Overview

We can provide you pick up at most hotels located in the hotel zone of Cancun and Riviera Maya or a meeting point near your hotel at Cancun, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen & Tulum. If you are staying in a Boutique Hotel, Hostel or Condominium, we will look for a nearby location as a meeting point. Most Frequent Meeting Points: Cancun Downtown: Hotel Oasis Smart 8:00 AM Playa del Carmen: Forever 21 Quinta Alegria 7:40 AM Tulum: Super Aki Tulum 7:00 AM The pickup time will be between 7:00 AM - and 8:00 AM; you will get exact details via email 2 days before your activity date.

Day trip to Chichen Itza

We were picked up promptly at 7am at our hotel lobby and whisked away to go pick up the other guests. We then were transferred to a big comfy bus where our tour guides Sammy and Mike told us many interesting things about the sites. Once we arrived at the sites the guys walked us around the sites and provided really great information for about 30 minutes then we had time to explore on our own. The food for the day was good but I do recommend bringing a snack for the morning as it takes about 2.5 hours to get to the sites. Bits a long trip but it’s absolutely worth it.

The archeological site was great. Loved the history and the stories. The senote was amazing. My boys loved diving from the deck. The lunch was ok. Valladolid was cute super crowded though. The guide had a nice story and lots of knowledge to share. I did feel like he would get kick backs from the vendors he pointed us to and the last part of the trip was all about leaving a positive review and tips. That truly bothers me personally. The bus had a strong chemical/cleaning smell to it but it was tolerable.

Horrible Experience - Shuttle Never Came

Overall an absolutely horrible experience. One day prior to our trip, I received a confirmation email that stated a different pickup location than the one I provided when booking the trip. As a result, I called the customer service number provided by SAT Mexico to make sure they had the correct information, and they sent an updated email with the correct pickup location and a meetup time of 7:05 am. I ended up also purchasing tickets to Chichen Itza online prior to the trip (also through SAT Mexico), since they claimed this would expedite the process once there. The morning of our trip, we waited in front of our hotel starting at 6:55 am. As time passed, we thought maybe the shuttle was running late since it had not come by 7:05. We called the customer service number many times and could not get ahold of anyone until 7:50 am. The individual on the phone claimed that the shuttle had never stopped at our hotel, and I inquired whether the shuttle would be coming back to pick us up since we had been waiting since 6:55 am. The customer service agent told me that the shuttle would not be returning to pick us up and that it had already left for Chichen Itza. My assumption is that the shuttle still went to the incorrect pick-up location rather than the updated location I provided over the phone (as well as in the original booking weeks in advance). I asked for a full refund for both the tour and the tickets to Chichen Itza (a total of $416 for 4 people) and I have yet to receive it.

Great Tour and Guide

Cesar and Eduardo were exceptional. Eduardo was a very reliable driver and the knowledge that Cesar has about the Mayans plus his sense of humor and kindness is perfect. The only reason this is not five stars is that the booking, pickup and drop off process was not as smooth as it could have been. Communication between drivers and office personnel was not clear. I booked a hotel pick up and the only options were ones far from my hotel or “Ill decide later” which isn’t the best option when you are unfamiliar with the area. SATs responses were also slow or non existent when I questioned the pick up times.

The trip was nice, the tour guide very knowledgeable, funny, made us laugh and was not boring. However, there were 2 things that I found to be bad. 1. Extremely poor pre-trip organization. When I was booking the tour, I selected a meeting point option because it was cheaper than a hotel pick up option. It took me more than an hour to find the meeting point which was the closest to our resort from the drop down list . That meeting point was mentioned on my voucher but not the pick up time. Few days before the trip I started receiving messages from the tour operator asking me where I was staying. That was strange because I have selected the meeting point. I provided the name of my resort 2-3 times and there was no response to it which created a confusion as to where should I go for the pick up. One day before the tour which was on Sunday, I started calling and sending messages to the tour operator. I was trying to reach them he entire day- I called 3 telephone numbers, left messages on WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger and Google- dead silence. If I could cancel my trip at that moment with full refund- I would have done it. Only at 6 pm I received a message that the pick up would be from a completely different location- neither our resort, nor the selected meeting point. I still don't understand why I had to spent 1 hr of my time looking for the closest pick up point if it did not matter at all. Due to the stress I went through with the organizational part, I decided not to take any other tours with this tour operator. 2. The tour was in 2 languages which I found to be a really bad idea. Had I known that in advance- I would have booked it with another tour operator. The guide provided a lot of interesting information but was constantly jumping from English to Spanish repeating the same and while he was talking in Spanish, I was not listening. So, I did not always realize that he switched back to English as my attention was already distracted. This constant distraction and difficulties to follow the story which was repeatedly interrupted resulted in a quick loss of interest to what he was saying. This is really pity because the most interesting part of the tour supposed to be the tour guide's explanation. It would make more sense to have different language groups. Regarding the tour guide- he was very professional, this job is clearly his passion and the organizational part during the tour was excellent.

Professional, Safe, and Fun

We were on a great tour with our guide Pastor and driver Mario. Pastor was a fun guide with great explanations. Both did a great job. Bumping my rating down due to the length and number of pickups for this tour. We booked hotel pickup for a group of 8. Since when we booked it said the tour capacity was 24 I didn’t expect a large bus or many stops. In actuality we were on a bus with a 50+ capacity (but not full). On the way out we made multiple resort stops including one without any passengers. We also had two stops in Playa. The bus audio system was garbled and it was hard to hear sometimes. Now for the destinations: Cichen Itza is very amazing to see, and we had a nice tour of the site. The site itself was undergoing some restoration, but it is clear that more help is needed. The site is filled with vendors all selling the same kinds of souvenirs. I can’t imagine that it is a great income for the vendors, and not a great experience as a visitor. My Dad had been there prior to 2006 and said it was not this way in the past. The cenote was so much fun! A little confusing because you have to rent a mandatory life vest (why not just build it into the ticket cost), and a locker for your stuff. Exhilarating and beautiful. Buffet lunch was tasty with lots of options. Vallodolid is a pretty little town and we enjoyed a walk in the square and a visit to a couple of shops. At the end of the tour we had to switch buses in Playa to get back to our resort in a more direct way. We still had more stops though. All in all a great day, but very long. Fewer stops would be appreciated.

Highlight of my trip to Cancun! Chichen Itza was even more incredible in person than I expected, and we got to learn so much and see so many things on this tour. Cesar (guide) and Juan (driver) were excellent, the entire experience felt very safe, convenient, and fun. Highly recommend!

I was a first time SOLO traveler and this excursion was AMAZING!!!!! If you’re thinking about booking this excursion… DO IT! My tour guide was Cesar and someone else (Sorry I forgot his name), but they were very knowledgeable about the history of Chichen Itza and truly cared about the deliverance of their tour! I felt 100% safe and comfortable on this trip. I recommend this excursion to anyone who’s interested in learning about history, having fun, and tasting great tequila!!!

Great Mix of Experiences, Though a Long Day

This tour was a great combination of significant locations in the Yucatan Peninsula! Pastor was a great guide - he did a good job wrangling our tour group and shared some really interesting information about Mayan culture and history! For those wanting to book this tour, there are a couple of things to be aware of: 1) It is a full day experience (~8am-7pm), so be prepared for that; 2) The first couple of hours will be primarily be for picking up everyone from around the Cancun/Playa del Carmen/Tulum area and, though a bit annoying, is probably the best they can do logistically. Overall though, my husband and I felt that this tour gave us the chance to go to Chichen Itza and experience features of the Yucatan Peninsula easily and almost stress-free!

This was a great trip and I would highly recommend this trip. Martin and his co-worker were very knowledgeable about the Myan culture and gave us a ton of information. We also had free time in all of our stops to take plenty of pictures and shop. My favorite was the cenote.
