What To Expect

Board your coach in Florence, and travel into the hills of Tuscany where the city of Siena awaits. Opt to take a guided tour of the city with a visit to Siena Cathedral to admire its renowned Gothic architecture. Or, make the most of some free time to set your own pace, and perhaps enjoy a coffee in the sun alongside the locals.

From Siena, return to the Tuscan countryside to explore the Chianti wine region. Stretch your legs with a stroll through a vineyard, olive grove and wine cellar, and refuel with a Tuscan winery lunch. As you sit surrounded by the grape vines, meet other visitors to the area and indulge in local treats such as cold cuts of meat, salad, pasta and fresh bread. Even better, a wine tasting takes place at the same time (not included in the tour option without lunch, guests will instead spend more time in San Gimignano)'

After lunch, journey onward to San Gimignano with its medieval towers, cobbled streets and squares. Explore the town’s historic center, cool down with a refreshing gelato and wander amid the 14 towers as you learn about their history.

Travel from San Gimignano to Pisa: your final stop of the day. Follow your guide to Cathedral Square to discover Pisa Duomo, Pisa Baptistry, the monumental cemetery (aka Camposanto) and, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Return to Florence in the early evening, and finish your Tuscany tour with a drop-off at the start point.

Lovely
Michelle_F, Apr 2023
This trip was wonderful! We were a little short on time at each stop. Mostly due to a late start. But the tour is definitely worth every penny. The lunch flavor was very average. Disappointing. The potential for the winery to serve delicious authentic Italian pasta is there but they miss the mark by having high numbers of people and low quality taste. The winery itself was a delightful experience and I will take this tour again. Hi gout recommend.
Great sample of Tuscany with fantastic tour company and amazing guide

We took this tour with WalkAbout Tours. What a fantastic experience this was!! It was a long day, but our guide Manolo and driver (Gaspere?) made it comfortable for all of us. I only wish we got some more time at San Gimignano - it's just that kind of town. The lunch at a winery was amazing, with some fantastic views. At every location, Manolo gave us some top-notch recommendations and how to utilize our time in the best possible way.
Excellent and wonderful Tuscany tour
Alan_V, Apr 2023
What a great Tuscany Tour we had. Giancarlo our guide and Daniel our bus driver were awesome. They provided excellent service, more than 5 stars! Giancarlo was very knowledgeable of the place and history that you will never get when you do the tour on your own. The bus was very clean and comfortable. Be prepared for a long 12-13 day of walking but definitely worth every penny spent. My wife and I did not get the lunch option that allowed us to spend more time to enjoy San Gimignano. We will definitely recommend this tour to our family and friends. Just a warning though for those who have mobility challenges though, this involves a lot of walking not only on flat but also uphill walkways. Thanks for a memorable Tuscany experience. Giancarlo and Daniel are the best!

Manolo organized our group and was very helpful for our large group. This was a great tour if you want to see the highlights in Tuscany but it’s too much if you want to hang around any one spot.
Snapshot of Tuscany

This is fabulous little day trip (full day) - giving you a great glimpse of Tuscany beyond Florence. Just enough time to see Pisa too.

We had a wonderful time. Tour guide, Sara, was great. Just enough info and just enough quiet time, all with a sense of humor.

Best Tour for a Snapshot of Tuscany!
Courtney_B, Apr 2023
I took this tour with my husband 11 years ago when we visited Italy, so I knew I had to do it again with my daughter during our visit. It's still the same as it was all those years ago, and so amazing it's worth doing twice!! A great way to see the highlights of Tuscany in one day, although a much longer trip in the region would be a dream. My daughter (8) had a wonderful time as well and made some new friends within the group. Highly recommend Walkabout Florence!!
Read the details carefully and beware it’s a very long day
Yvette_M, Apr 2023
Emma our tour guide was amazing. The feedback I have was on the tour itself. We had three tours bus full of people staggered across times and sometimes overlapping, much more than the size advertised on the tour. It’s a lot of time on the bus spent between destinations. Of the 10 hours of the tour. half of that is spent driving on the bus. I would not recommend this for kids and families. There was a little bot on our bus that got so nauseous from the drive that he puked. It smelled terrible and though Emma handled it like a pro it was super uncomfortable with the bus AC not working even in cooler temperatures. Sienna is really the only place you have a guide (she was also Amazing) and everything else minus the leaning tower if you book is explore on your own. I’m glad we did this once but would likely never do it again and would not recommend it to family and friends in the future.
A well spent day!

Food, scenery, winery…this tour had it all! Mother and daughter trip and we could not stop raving about it. We were touring Rome, Florence, and Venice by train and wanted to step out and see a little more of the countryside. Highly recommend this tour.

An amazing must-to trip
Saurav_R, Apr 2023
We had the most amazing helpful empathetic tour leader - Alessandro and a wonderful driver, Fabio. He gave us enough time at every place, but was mindful of time as well. He made sure some specific requests were taken care of, which was super - given such a large group of 45 people. The trip starts with Siena (90 min walking tour). Siena walk is difficult due to terrain. But a beautiful medieval place. We got about 45 mins of free time here. Then we drove to SanMigniano area for the winery - delicious pasta, cheese, salami with 4-wine tasting including the sweet wine with biscotti. 5 stars for the lunch The view from the lunch room was spectacular. Then we drove to San Migniano town for a walk into the town - a straight uphill walk for about 5-10 mins, must have the best gelato in the world here & lot of shopping Our final stop was Pisa. But the drive from San Migniano to Pisa was through the best scenic views of Tuscany. We had an hour at Pisa- plenty of time for those not getting into the tower walk. So overall a day very well spent & super value for the money.
Tuscan countryside

Emma provided a great tour experience as we went through the Tuscan countryside. Pisa was a great site but a bit rushed at the end of the day. The church at Siena was incredible and learning the history of the horse races.
Amazing!

Everything about this trip was fantastic! Our guide Alessandro and driver Emiliano made the trip perfect and made everything run smoothly. The food and towns were beyond words! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!!
Good places selection
Kristel_U, Apr 2023
The tour was good, the places to visit were very nice. The wine yard visit was very good organized and we had enough time to explore the villages. The only thing that we didn’t like was that the guide was not that nice, was very sarcastic and unsympathetic. No interaction with anyone.

The group was larger than I expected but was well organized. Had hoped for a small group. Lunch was excellent. Only downside — no mask requirement on the bus and some people were sick.
Best Tour of My Life

Tsove was our tour guide for our magical Tuscan Day. She was incredibly informative and helped us maintain incredible energy throughout the 12 hour long day. Not only that but she assisted my fiance with executing an incredibly romantic proposal. She brough the exact right amount of joy and fun to our whole trip and absolutely made it an unforgettable day :)
