The Basics

Book skip-the-line tickets to save time at the perennially popular Louvre or attend with an art expert guide for a more in-depth visit—art lovers and novices alike will benefit from such insight. Private tours are a good option for those with specific interests, while audio guides are also available. Alternatively, combine the Louvre with stops at the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Highlights of the antiquity section include the Seated Scribe and Venus de Milo. From the Renaissance, don't miss famous works by Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, and Titian. French 19th-century masterpieces include Gericault's The Raft of the Medusa and the work of David and Delacroix.

Our family was so thankful to have Adam showing us around Paris yesterday afternoon. He was so kind, funny, and knowledgeable that it truly made his tour a once in a lifetime experience. We can't recommend Adam enough!

Louvre Museum Skip-the-Line Guided Tour with Venus de Milo & Mona Lisa
Andrea is a fabulous guide. He made the tour fun, as well as informative. The Louvre maps are not very helpful, so having a guide was really helpful.

Excellent tour! We got lost on the way to the Louvre and were terribly late. Nevertheless, the tour operator welcomed us into the next group and saved our experience from sad disaster. The tour was as delightful as we had hoped. Super high marks for professionalism and customer service!!

Great way to tour the Louvre. Our guide was very knowledgeable and far more efficient navigating the museum than we would have been able to do on our own!

Louvre Highlights Skip-the- Line Guided Tour with Mona Lisa & Venus de Milo
What an amazing experience -- and I give credit to the beauty of the Louvre -- but also to the incredible tour guide that was assigned to our group - Avi. He was amazing! He made a very short tour through an incredibly large museum all make sense! He made it fun -- and we learned so much!!! We are so grateful to Avi for an evening at the Louvre which we will not forget!!!

Kids and Families skip the ticket line Private Louvre Tour Paris
Tonya was an amazing, patient and incredible knowledgeable guide. She certainly has taught all of us a lot about the Louvre itself and the amazing art within. We would have never been able to see as much and keep the kids engaged at the same time for the entire 3 hours of the tour. 2 thumbs up!

Louvre Museum Skip-the-Line Guided Tour with Venus de Milo & Mona Lisa
We were so happy we booked this. The Louvre is so big, we wouldn’t have known where to start. This was a nice way to get started, the tour took about 2.5 hours and then we stayed for an additional hour or so. Our guide was very knowledgeable and it was easy to hear him with the headphones. Also loved the skip the line feature! Highly recommend.

We had a 10:30 entry and waited in line 10-15 minutes. The audio guide was sent in large files to download on phones.

Paris: Louvre Museum Timed-Entrance Ticket with Audio Guide
The Louvre is a must see in Paris for sure. We spend 6.5 hours there and saw 80%. There's a reasonably priced cafe and Starbucks inside.

The Louvre Museum is HUGE

Louvre Museum Timed Entrance Access with Cruise Ticket
The Louvre Museum is HUGE, give yourself plenty of time to enjoy all aspects of this museum. The room for the Mona Lisa will always be crowded, so you can head there first, save it for last or just experience it as it naturally occurs on the map but be prepared to get lost in the museum. LOL.

Underrated Artworks at the Louvre

Most visitors flock to the Mona Lisa, but the Louvre is so much more than da Vinci's moody muse. Make time for Ingres' Grande Odalisque, an 18th-century nude; the cheeky 16th-century Gabrielle d’Estrées and One of Her Sisters; and a Goya classic—The Countess del Carpio. You can even explore the ruins of the fortress upon which the Louvre is built.
