What To Expect

Choose an entry time when booking; meet your host near the Eiffel Tower a half hour prior to your scheduled time. 

With your group, stroll the short distance to one of the world's busiest monuments. Bypass the long lines and head straight for the elevators, enjoying speedy and stress-free access to the second floor. Step out with your host to take in some of the best panoramic views in Paris from the viewing platform, 375 feet (114 meters) above the ground. Get a basic orientation to the sights and landmarks visible from your vantage point from your host, then explore the area at your leisure. Snap photos of the Louvre, Les Invalides, Sacré Coeur, and the Champ de Mars, among other standout Parisian highlights. 

After you've had your fill of the second level, proceed to the summit, where you can toast your trip with Champagne from the bar and view Gustave Eiffel's private apartments.

Just remember to arrive about 20 minutes before scheduled time and all attractions have security checks, so travel light.
Queues can get a bit long but worth the (not too long) wait
It can get a little scary but I would only say, don't look down.

Good quick way to get to the top

This is an easy way to get to the top. The guide doesn’t really tell you much so don’t expect a lot of conversation or actual discussion of how and why the Eiffel Tower was constructed. Once he gets you in and walks you up to the first level viewing platform he leaves. Which is fine , but if you were looking for more of a guide this is not the tour for you.

Mauro was a great (and entertaining) tour guide, I recommend this tour. The only issue was that the summit was closed during our tour, and we weren’t aware of the closure.

Why Viator doesn’t just email tickets instead of sending you to some obscure ticket office to pick them up I have no idea. Our guided tour to the Eiffel Tower was scheduled for 12:15pm. Would have been a 20 minute cab ride from the hotel, so at 11:15 we went out front to get a taxi. They were running the Paris Marathon at that moment and the cab driver said he couldn’t get there due to the closed streets. We ended up walking for over an hour not knowing where we were going. Wound up 15 minutes late and missed the tour! I explained what happened to the customer service rep and she was extremely rude, saying the only thing she could do was to try and get us on the next tour for an extra $100!! Cost us $230 which we lost. Awful experience, awful customer service. Will never use again!

Very nice. Hugo was wonderful, and challenged my kids with trivia. If I had to complain about something, it was the number of people there, very crowded, but certainly wasn’t a deal breaker, and would do it again! Hugo saved us a lot of time waiting in lines, they were very long!

The Eiffel tower skip the line summit was very well worth it if you don’t want to wait in line for an hour or more. Host Kenza was very informative and easy to talk to. She was informative and allowed for Q&A during and before the tour ended.

Eiffel Tower Summit Refund Not Sufficient

Purchased: 2 tickets to the Eiffel Tower Skip the Line Summit with Host ($86.42 per person). The Summit was not open or not available to us (the guide didn't give a reason but said we would get a refund). Viator offers the "Eiffel Tower Skip the Line 2nd Level Access with Host" for $64.54 - which is the event we actually got. Difference in price = $21.88 per person. Our refund was $21.99 - which covers ONE ticket and we bought TWO. So refund should be approx $43.76. I tried to contact Viator about this but there is no response to my email and I was cut off from a chat. Very frustrating.

En route to the tour, despite taking an Uber, we encountered heavy traffic. We arrived 10 minutes past the time and the tour guide was gone. We asked the person who was still at the meeting location to let us know how to get in touch with the tour guide and she said she can’t help us. I asked if we could join a later tour or another day and she said no. I tried to chat with a Viator rep to figure out an alternate option and no one appeared on the chat. I tried a few minutes after and still no response.

Cancelled Without Notice

Unfortunately our Tour Guide closed without notice. There were ongoing protests at the time and I can understand why they closed but it was disappointing that nobody let us know. It took a lot of effort for us to get to the location on time just to find out it was cancelled. I should note that the Viator agent was very helpful in trying to get in contact with the Tour Guide and get us rebooked. This review is only a refection of History Group Tours, not Viator
